Katrina Hofius

Katrina Hofius serves as the tactical right hand to Flamboyan’s CEO and Board Chair, providing high-quality logistical and administrative support that ensures daily operations run smoothly and strategically. She supports the Senior Leadership Team across executive coordination, organizational administration, philanthropy, and communications. Katrina also helps steward Flamboyan’s grantmaking processes, streamline internal systems, and amplify the CEO’s external presence. 

Katrina is committed to advancing educational equity because she believes every child deserves access to an excellent education, regardless of their background or community. She is dedicated to learning and positively impacting the communities around her. In her role, she is proud to support the people and systems working to create a more just and equitable future through transformative educational opportunities. 

Before joining Flamboyan, Katrina served as a lead Teacher at Washington Yu Ying Public Charter School, where she spent over seven years designing and delivering inquiry-based, dual-language instruction through the International Baccalaureate Primary Years Program. In that role, she led initiatives that promoted academic excellence and whole-child development while supporting diverse learners and contributing to culturally responsive curriculum design. 


What was your favorite subject at school? My favorite subject in school was history. I’ve always loved stories, and history is full of them—real people, real challenges, and the decisions that shaped the world we live in. History helps me understand how the past informs the present and gives deeper meaning to the work we do today.
