Rayze Michelle Ostolaza Oquendo nació en San Juan en el 1994. Es una artista interdisciplinaria, poeta, escritora, actriz, bailarina, gestora cultural y tallerista. Fue criada en el Residencial Torres de Sabana en Carolina y actualmente vive en Carolina. Rayze es anfitriona de Tacos y Poesía y Dos poetas y una barra. Próximamente estará autopublicando su poemario Retazos de cielo. Sus poemas “Mi País”, “Ser puertorriqueño” y “Desahogo Revolucionario” han alcanzado sobre 60 mil interacciones en las redes sociales.
Rayze sueña con terminar su libro de cuentos El reino de la miseria, inspirado en personajes y vivencias del caserío en donde se crió. Sueña con poder vivir del arte y proveer herramientas a la comunidad para transformar sus emociones en arte. “Recibir esta beca para mí significa tener la ayuda monetaria que estaba esperando para darle forma a mi proyecto artístico. Este consta de crear una plataforma educativa para brindar mentoría y guía a artistas interdisciplinaries, con o sin experiencia, que busquen pulir su visión artística.”

Rayze dreams of finishing her book of stories El reino de la miseria, inspired by characters and experiences from the village where she grew up. She dreams of being able to make a living from art and provide tools to the community to transform their emotions into art. “Receiving this scholarship for me means having the financial help that I was waiting for to shape my artistic project. This consists of creating an educational platform to provide mentoring and guidance to interdisciplinary artists, with or without experience, who seek to polish their artistic vision.”
