Rosalba Rolón

Rosalba Rolón es la Directora Artística de Pregones + Puerto Rican Traveling Theater (PregonesPRTT). Es una consumada directora y dramaturga especializada en la adaptación de textos literarios y no literarios para representaciones teatrales con música en vivo. Entre sus producciones se encuentran The Red Rose (Premio Talía de la Asociación de Artes Escénicas de España, 2024), Torched! – A People Ignited, Harlem Hellfighters On A Latin Beat, Guaracha, Betsy! (en colaboración con Roadside Theatre/KY), Brides (en colaboración con teatros de Bélgica y la República Eslovaca) y muchos otros. Con PregonesPRTT ha realizado giras por 38 estados/500+ ciudades de EE. UU. y 18 países.

En el 2024, el Instituto de Cultura Puertorriqueña le dedicó su 61° Festival de Teatro a Rosalba y a Pregones PRTT. Es miembro titular del Comité de Nominaciones de los Premios Tony (2018-2023) y actualmente forma parte del Consejo de la Industria del Teatro y el Espectáculo de la Ciudad de Nueva York.  Rosalba es miembro del cuerpo docente de los National Association for Latino Arts and Cultures (NALAC) Leadership and Advocacy Institutes; y del Emerging Leadership Institute of the National Association of Performing Arts Professionals (APAP).  Sus premios incluyen una beca de United States Artists Fellowship, un premio Creative Capital (con Paul Flores y Yosvany Terry) y un Doris Duke Artist Award.

 

Rosalba Rolón is the Artistic Director of Pregones + Puerto Rican Traveling Theater (PregonesPRTT). She is an accomplished director and dramaturg specializing in the adaptation of literary and non-literary texts for stage performances with live music. Her productions include the The Red Rose (recipient of the Premio Talía by the Asociación de Artes Escénicas de España, 2024), Torched! – A People Ignited, Harlem Hellfighters On A Latin Beat, Guaracha, Betsy! (in collaboration with Roadside Theater/KY), Brides (in collaboration with theaters in Belgium and the Slovak Republic) and many others. With PregonesPRTT she has toured 38 states/500+ cities in the U.S., and 18 countries.

In 2024, the Institute of Puerto Rican Culture dedicated its 61st Theater Festival to her and to Pregones PRTT. She is a tenured member of the Tony Awards Nominating Committee (2018-2023) and is currently serving on the NYC Theatre and Performance Industry Council.  Rosalba is a Faculty Member of the National Association for Latino Arts and Cultures (NALAC) Leadership and Advocacy Institutes; and of the Emerging Leadership Institute of the National Association of Performing Arts Professionals (APAP).  Fellowships include a United States Artists Fellowship, a Creative Capital Award (with Paul Flores and Yosvany Terry), and a Doris Duke Artist Award.
