Josh coaches a portfolio of Flamboyan’s partner schools to ensure that the REAL Family Engagement model is embedded within the school’s culture and way of being. He coaches teams of educators on this framework to help his schools sustain these family engagement practices on their own. Josh is committed to working in education because educational equity and access is his form of social justice. He believes our students deserve to grow, to be curious, and to succeed. Serving schools to build strong relationships with families to produce positive student outcomes is one layer of support.

Before joining Flamboyan, Josh was a Fourth-Grade STEM Teacher in DC for three years. Since 2021, he pivoted to working with organizations and non-profits that support schools around academic support (math intervention) by coaching tutors and interventionists in DC Elementary and Middle Schools.

Outside of Flamboyan, Josh is a Video Content Creator and Photographer in his spare time. He also loves working out, curating music playlists, and cooking for others. Connect with Josh on LinkedIn.

Who was your favorite teacher in school? Mr. Harris, my AP English Teacher, was a no-nonsense educator. He pushed us to produce our best work, to ask questions, and to be authentic in the classroom. Mr. Harris modeled how to push student thinking (productive struggle) while giving us the opportunity to take risks and sometimes fail in a safe environment.
