What is the Letras Boricuas Fellowship?
The Letras Boricuas Fellowship, sponsored by the Flamboyan Arts Fund and the Mellon Foundation, offers an unrestricted $25,000 grant to support writers’ financial sustainability and literary practice. Since its launch in 2021, the program has named four cohorts of fellows, awarding a total of 84 writers.
Beyond financial support, one of the fellowship’s most meaningful aspects is the opportunity for fellows to connect with participants from previous cohorts, fostering an active, supportive literary community and strengthening a vibrant ecosystem grounded in Puerto Rican and diaspora voices.
