At Flamboyan, we are always looking for innovative ways to connect with our audience and share valuable insights in the evolving education landscape. After connecting with NY-Rise’s team in the fall of 2023, we were honored to be invited on their “Home to School Connections” Podcast!
The “Home to School Connections” Podcast aims to provide quick, digestible professional development content on family engagement for busy teachers, school leaders, family engagement coordinators, and support staff. Our team was excited about this opportunity for meaningful partnership as NY-Rise is a charter initiative through the New York State Department of Education.
Each of the three episodes Flamboyan recorded with NY-Rise offers helpful guidance on three specific practices in REAL Family Engagement:
- preparation for effective conferences;
- reflecting on family feedback; and
- communication with families around academics.
Sally Wade, a Senior Consultant at the Manhattan Strategy Group and an expert on family engagement interviewed Flamboyan’s Senior Managing Director of Programs Emily Garcia, and Managing Director of Training + Development Thedra White.
