Jaquira Díaz

Jaquira Díaz nació en Humacao, Puerto Rico, y se crio entre este municipio, Fajardo y Miami Beach, Florida. Actualmente vive en Colorado. Es escritora, periodista, profesora y productora. Es autora de Muchachas ordinarias, ganadora de un premio Whiting, una medalla de oro de los Florida Book Awards, finalista de los Premios Lambda Literary, una selección de Indies Introduce de la Asociación Estadounidense de Libreros, una selección de Barnes & Noble Discover Great New Writers, una selección del Indie Next List, una elección de Library Reads y finalista del premio B&N Discover. Ha escrito para The Atlantic, The Guardian, Time Magazine y T: The New York Times Style Magazine, entre otras publicaciones. Díaz es coproductora ejecutiva de Ordinary Girls actualmente en desarrollo para televisión con FX.

 

Jaquira Díaz was born in Humacao, Puerto Rico, and growing up, alternated between that municipality, Fajardo and Miami Beach, Florida. She currently lives in Colorado. She is a writer, journalist, professor, and producer. She is the author of Muchachas ordinarias, which won the Whiting award, a gold medal from the Florida Book Awards, was selected as a finalist for the Literary Lambda Awards and the B&N Discover prize, and selected as an Indies Introduce author by the American Booksellers Association, by Barnes & Noble Discover Great New Writers, by the Indie Next List and by Library Reads.

She has written for The Atlantic, The Guardian, Time Magazine, and T: The New York Times Style Magazine, among other publications. Díaz is an executive co-producer for Ordinary Girls, which is currently being developed for television with FX.
