At Flamboyan, Karima ensures the team has access to data from our partner schools and programs in order to make data-based decisions for coaching schools on implementing the best family engagement practices for their students and staff. She helps manage the platforms that track family engagement activities, staff survey responses, and data from OSSE and helps compile the data into formats teams and schools can use.
Karima believes that everyone has potential to contribute knowledge, solutions, and kindness to the world. A quality education facilitates an environment for students to maximize their potential, and she believes that we would all benefit with access to that opportunity.
Karima graduated with degrees in Elementary Education and Cognitive Studies/Psychology from Vanderbilt University. While in school, she worked at the Building Knowledge Lab, where she studied psychology around learning, knowledge, and misinformation in 5-10 year old children. Karima then went on to work as an elementary school teacher at DCPS for two years. The students she taught in DC and Nashville, TN continue to motivate her work in education.
Outside of Flamboyan, Karima loves reading books and watching TV, because she loves stories and understanding people’s thinking and motivations.
