Patricia Coral Ayala

At Flamboyan, Patricia provides comprehensive support to the CEO to ensure seamless execution of professional priorities and assists with special projects. She works in partnership with the CEO to design, implement, and manage all aspects of philanthropic giving from the CEO’s office in both Washington, DC and Puerto Rico. Patricia believes education is a powerful tool for social transformation.

Prior to joining Flamboyan, Patricia worked in the arts management, nonprofit, and education sectors as Director of Events at Politics and Prose, Program and Development Manager at Inprint, and as a consultant for several nonprofits and educational projects in Puerto Rico, Houston, and DC. She holds a BA in Hispanic Studies from Universidad de Puerto Rico, an MA in Spanish from Universidad Interamericana de Puerto Rico, and an MFA in Creative Writing from American University in DC.

Outside of Flamboyan, Patricia is a writer. In her free time, she leads workshops and writing community groups. Her first book is forthcoming in 2024.

Who was your favorite teacher in school? I had many inspiring teachers who made a positive impact in my life, but my favorite was Mrs. Carmen Molina, who taught me to love my country and its history, to think critically, and to be passionate about learning.
